Hardship: Federal Government Launches Subnational Tour to Boost Ease of Doing Business in States

In a bid to improve Nigeria's business environment, the Federal Government, through the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) has announced a series of subnational tours to enhance ease of doing business reforms across the country’s states. The initiative is set to kick off on November 12 in Katsina State, with additional sessions scheduled from November 12 to 14.

According to Aimeya Okpebholo, Project Manager at the PEBEC Secretariat, the tour will include townhall sessions, stakeholder engagements, and an MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) exhibition. These events will bring together key stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector leaders, and international partners, to discuss ways of improving the local business climate.

Representatives from other Northwestern states, such as Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara, are expected to attend the tour, which will focus on fostering collaboration to support business growth and transparency between businesses and regulatory bodies.

Okpebholo noted that the tours align with the government’s broader mission to enhance Nigeria’s business landscape and create a more transparent regulatory environment. This initiative underscores Nigeria's continued commitment to supporting business expansion and economic resilience across various regions.
