Hon. Arinola Fatimoh Lawal, through the Mohammed Alabi Lawal Foundation, is set to launch the third anniversary of her scholarship scheme aimed at empowering students within the Ilorin East Constituency.
Ensurednews gathered the event is scheduled for November 10, 2024, and will see 120 students receiving scholarships to support their educational pursuits.
Since its inception on October 1, 2022, the scholarship scheme has been a beacon of hope for many students in the community.
In its first year, the program provided scholarships to 100 students, covering their tuition fees for the first, second, and third terms, along with their WAEC fees. The initiative expanded in its second edition, accommodating 120 students from various schools across Kwara State.
The scholarship scheme not only facilitates access to basic education but also empowers students to pursue higher education, significantly reducing the number of out-of-school children in the country.
The initiative has proven impactful, as evidenced by academic performance; in the first edition, approximately 65 percent of beneficiaries passed their WAEC examinations, a figure that rose to 75 percent in the second edition.
According to reports from Ensurednews, the upcoming launch is expected to draw significant attention, with community leaders and stakeholders likely to attend.
Hon Arinola's commitment to education continues to inspire hope and transform lives within the constituency, offering students the chance to focus on their studies and realize their academic potential.
As Hon. Lawal prepares for the launch, anticipation grows for the continued success of the scholarship scheme and its positive influence on the community's educational landscape.
