Omorinoye Boys will square off against Baba Aladura House Boys in the much-anticipated final of the 2024 Pastor Dr. Joseph Omorinoye Christmas Football Tournament.
The tournament, organized by Pastor Dr. Joseph Omorinoye, aims to celebrate the youth of Erin-Ile and foster unity and community spirit through sports.
In the semifinal on Thursday, Omorinoye Boys booked their spot in the final after a hard-fought encounter with Hon. Otu Boys.
The match ended in a 1-1 draw at the end of regular time, but Omorinoye Boys triumphed 3-2 in a dramatic penalty shootout.
Baba Aladura House Boys secured their place in the final with a 2-1 victory over Erin-Ile FC in the other semifinal, setting up an intriguing showdown with Omorinoye Boys.
The final match will take place on Friday, December 27, 2024, at 5 p.m., while the third-place match between Erin-Ile FC and Hon. Otu Boys will kick off at 4 p.m.
This year’s tournament not only showcases the footballing talent in Erin-Ile but also serves to promote unity, physical health, and community spirit, all while honoring the legacy of Pastor Dr. Joseph Omorinoye.
