The Kwara Kiddies YEG league has secured a significant four-year sponsorship deal with Nigeria Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi and Unicorns Football Club.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was formalized on Friday, June 21, 2024, in Ilorin, Kwara State capital, amidst prominent football stakeholders and media coverage.
The signing ceremony underscored the league's growing stature as the premier kiddies football competition in Nigeria. Now entering its third season, the league aims to nurture young talent from the U-12 to U-17 categories, providing a foundational platform for future football stars.
The partnership with Taiwo Awoniyi and Unicorns FC represents a strategic alignment to bolster this developmental mission over the next four years.
Ibrahim Jatto, Chief Operating Officer of the Kwara Kiddies YEG league, hailed the sponsorship as a watershed moment for grassroots football development nationwide.
He emphasized Awoniyi's pivotal role in inspiring young players, citing his status as a role model admired by aspiring footballers across the region.
"The league has not only found a worthy partner and sponsor in Taiwo Awoniyi but also a valuable asset that will bring about transformation to the league and give all kids the needed jump," Jatto remarked.
Awoniyi expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, highlighting his personal commitment to aiding grassroots footballers in Kwara State to achieve their dreams.
