The head coach of Nigeria's Falconets, Chris Danjuma, has announced his squad for the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, which will take place from August 31 to September 22.
The 21-player list includes three goalkeepers, six defenders, five midfielders, and seven strikers. The roster is headlined by Opeyemi Ajakaye, the talented forward from Madrid CFF.
Notably, five players who have previously earned call-ups to the Super Falcons are also on the team: Jumoke Alani, Rofiat Imuran, Comfort Folorunsho, Chiamaka Okwuchukwu, and Flourish Sabastine.
The Falconets have been placed in Group D for the tournament, alongside Germany, Venezuela, and South Korea. Nigeria will kick off their campaign on September 1 against South Korea at the Estadio El Techo in Bogotá.
The tournament promises to be a competitive platform for the young talents, with hopes high for Nigeria's performance on the global stage.
