The Kwara State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed admiration for Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki (CON), praising his decision to prioritize peace by canceling his attendance at this year's Ilorin Durbar festival.

Dr. Saraki, the Waziri Ngeri of Ilorin Emirate, announced this move earlier today, responding to appeals from the Emir's Palace and prominent Islamic leaders in the region.

In a statement released by Mr. Olusegun Olusola Adewara, the State Publicity Secretary of the Kwara PDP, the party applauded Dr. Saraki's commitment to stability in Kwara State.

The statement highlighted Dr. Saraki's distinguished roles as a former Governor of Kwara State and Senate President, emphasizing his deep-rooted respect for traditional and religious institutions.

The party noted Dr. Saraki's significant reception at the Ilorin Eid praying ground, which reportedly unsettled Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and his supporters.

It alleged that the governor's camp, apprehensive of Dr. Saraki's popularity, attempted to disrupt events during the Eid prayers, which prompted the Emir's Palace to intervene and advise against Dr. Saraki's participation in the Durbar for the sake of public order.

While commending Dr. Saraki's decision, the Kwara PDP criticized Governor Abdulrazaq's administration, accusing it of mismanagement and failure to address public concerns.

The party urged the governor to focus on improving governance and cease efforts to undermine Dr. Saraki's influence, which it described as deeply rooted in the affection of the people.

In conclusion, the Kwara PDP called for unity among stakeholders and encouraged leaders to emulate Dr. Saraki's example of prioritizing public welfare and harmony over personal interests.
