The Kwara State Road Traffic Management Authority (KWARTMA) has announced the closure of Reservation Road, Sa’adu Alanamu Street, from Flower Garden to Tanke/Umaru Audi Junction, effective Monday, August 11, 2025.
According to KWARTMA, the closure is to facilitate the laying of asphalt on the busy stretch, a project aimed at improving traffic flow and ensuring safer vehicular movement along the axis.
In a statement signed by Olawuyi Gani Olalekan, Head of Media and Public Relations, motorists are advised to use AbdulRasaq Road and Ahmadu Bello Way as alternative routes to access Tanke Oke-Odo and the University of Ilorin axis.
“The closure is to enable the laying of asphalt on the stretch from Flower Garden to Tanke/Umaru Audi Junction. The project is also aimed at easing traffic flow and ensuring the safe movement of vehicles along the axis."
"Motorists are advised to use AbdulRasaq Road and Ahmadu Bello Way as alternative routes to access Tanke Oke-Odo and the Unilorin axis, as there will be a complete closure and diversion on the affected road,” the statement read.
The authority assured residents that the project will be completed within schedule to minimise inconvenience.
"KWARTMA remains committed to ensuring hitch-free movement for members of the public and urges all motorists to comply."
