Head coach Jean Baptiste Bisseck has unveiled a 24-player squad for Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses ahead of their much-anticipated double-header international friendly matches against Nigeria’s Super Falcons.
Veteran stars Achta Njoya and Gabrielle Onguene make a return to the national team setup, adding experience and firepower to the squad.
Rising talent Ashley Ngone also features prominently among the selected players, as Bisseck looks to blend experience with youth in the two crucial preparatory matches.
The first friendly encounter is scheduled for Saturday at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State. The teams will then lock horns again next week Tuesday at the newly renovated MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta.
The Indomitable Lionesses arrived in Nigeria on Friday ahead of the friendlies, which are expected to rekindle the fierce rivalry between the two West and Central African powerhouses.
Cameroon will be aiming for a measure of revenge, having lost narrowly to Nigeria 1-0 in their last meeting during the 2024 Olympic Games qualifiers.
These matches serve as critical preparation for both nations as they gear up for future continental and global tournaments, including the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
