Football Expert Calls for Victor Osimhen's Reinstatement Amidst Napoli's Struggles and Transfer Speculations

A prominent football expert and journalist in Naples, Raffaele Mignano, has urged Napoli to reinstate Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen amidst growing transfer speculations and the club's disappointing start to the Serie A season.

Osimhen, who has been at the center of transfer rumours, was notably left out of Napoli's squad for their opening match against Hellas Verona, a game which Napoli lost 3-0.

The 25-year-old Nigerian forward has been linked with multiple European giants, including Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, and Arsenal, but Napoli has yet to reach an agreement for his transfer.

As speculation around his future swirls, Osimhen has been training separately from the first team while awaiting clarity on his next move.

Speaking to Napoli Magazine, Mignano believes Napoli would benefit from having Osimhen back in the squad. He argued that the Nigerian's presence on the pitch could significantly improve the team's performance, especially as the club seeks redemption after their dismal start to the season under new manager Antonio Conte.

"Conte can help the team get out of it, and after the reinstatement of Gaetano I ask for that of Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian can help the team on the pitch and give the fans some satisfaction, with the Azzurri supporters who are always by the side of the Neapolitans and have also shown it in the retreat," Mignano said.

Mignano suggested that Osimhen's return to the lineup, particularly in Napoli's upcoming fixture against Bologna on Sunday, August 25, could also reignite transfer interest.

"If the striker were to go on the pitch with Bologna and score a brace, important offers could arrive for him. Atalanta and Juventus have started well, Inter is already consolidated, Napoli needs time because it must be rebuilt, as De Laurentiis and Conte also said."

Napoli's struggles in the Serie A opener have intensified pressure on Conte, who is still awaiting the arrival of his preferred striking option, Romelu Lukaku, from Chelsea.

Until then, Mignano believes Osimhen's return could bolster the team's attacking play and offer much-needed relief to the Napoli faithful.

The match against Bologna will provide Napoli with an opportunity to bounce back and prove they can still challenge for the Scudetto this season.
