In the video released by the Public Relations Unit, NSCDC Kwara State Command, the NSCDC deployed the all-female squad to protecting educational institutions in the region.

The female squad of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) was established in 2022 to address the increasing threats to educational institutions.

This specialized unit was created in response to the persistent attacks on schools and is tasked with ensuring the safety of educational environments and protecting against threats from unscrupulous individuals.

The statement emphasized the readiness of the female squad of the NSCDC Kwara State Command to play a crucial role in providing a secure environment for primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions, as schools across Kwara State prepare to welcome students for the new academic session.

It further added that the squad, comprising highly trained and dedicated officers, has undergone rigorous training in both armed and unarmed combat to effectively safeguard schools and campuses.

Dr. Umar J.G. Mohammed, the Commandant of NSCDC Kwara State, has directed the female squad to patrol educational institutions actively and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure the security of lives and property throughout the state.
