The Kwara State Government has appealed to residents to support its ongoing infrastructural development initiatives, assuring that the administration remains committed to delivering impactful projects that cut across all communities, regardless of political, religious, or social affiliations.
The call was made by the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Segun Ogunsola, during the first quarter 2025 Inter-Ministerial Press Briefing organized by the Kwara State Ministry of Communications. The briefing was held on Wednesday at the Ministry of Finance conference room in Ilorin.
Dr. Ogunsola emphasized the administration’s dedication to transforming the state’s physical infrastructure and urged the public to continue backing the state’s development policies. He noted that such support is vital to ensure that the projects have meaningful and lasting impacts on the lives of citizens.
According to a statement by Kunle Gbadeyan, Press Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, the Commissioner outlined several flagship projects either completed or currently underway. These include the completion of inherited and ongoing projects by the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
The projects, spread across the three senatorial districts of the state, include:
- Remodeling of the Kwara Hotel complex
- Upgrade of Adewole Cottage Hospital
- Renovation of the Indoor Sports Hall
- Full renovation of the Kwara Football Academy (KFA)
- Construction of KWASU campuses in Osi and Ilesha-Baruba
- New ultra-modern Revenue House for the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service
- Ilorin International Conference Center (IICC)
- Kwara ICT Hub, Ilorin
- Adeta Model School construction
- Kwara Court House Complex
- New Civil Service Hospital
- Flower Garden Phase 2
- Modernisation of Dada Pottery Industry
- Shonga ICT Hub construction
- Patigi Regatta Motel upgrade
Dr. Ogunsola noted that these infrastructural strides are reshaping the face of the state, enhancing both its visual appeal and economic potential. He described the projects as a testament to Governor AbdulRazaq’s “IseNtesiwaju” campaign slogan, which underscores the administration’s commitment to progressive development.
“These landmark projects are not just physical structures but symbols of growth, modernization, and the future we envision for Kwara,” he said.
