In a remarkable show of community support for local security efforts, the Obo-Ile community in Kwara State has constructed a mini-barracks for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). The facility, named in honour of the Kwara State Commandant of the NSCDC, Dr. Umar JG Mohammed, was commissioned on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.
The mini-barracks, generously funded and constructed by His Royal Majesty, Oba Rufus Olusegun Adebayo, the Owalobo of Obo-Ile Akamekun 1, will provide suitable accommodation and a conducive environment for NSCDC personnel in the Obo-Ile Division. This effort aims to enhance their operational efficiency and boost overall security in the community.
During the commissioning ceremony, Dr. Umar JG Mohammed expressed his deep gratitude to Oba Rufus Olusegun Adebayo and the people of Obo-Ile for their initiative. He assured the community that the facility would be used to its fullest potential to ensure the safety and security of the area.
His Royal Majesty, Oba Rufus Olusegun Adebayo, emphasized his community's appreciation for the NSCDC's commitment to grassroots security. He reaffirmed Obo-Ile's continued support for the Corps and pledged ongoing collaboration to maintain peace and order in the region.
