Joseph Omorinoye Boys made history by winning the maiden edition of the 2024 Joseph Omorinoye Christmas Football Tournament in Erin-Ile.
The inaugural edition of the tournament concluded in spectacular fashion, marked by the presence of notable dignitaries.
The event also had in attendance the Chairman of the Erin-Ile Football Association and several other distinguished guests.
The Omorinoye Boys emerged victorious with a 3-2 victory over Baba Aladura House Boys in the final.
Meanwhile, Erinle FC won the third place match via penalties after it ended 1-1 at regular time over Hon. Otu Boys. Erinle FC won on penalties 4-3.
Courtesy of the victory, the Omorinoye Boys received a cash price of ₦350,000, while Baba Aladura House Boys received ₦300,000 for finishing second.
Erinle FC, who finished Third received a cash gift of ₦250,000, while Hon. Otu Boys received ₦200,000, for finishing fourth.
However, the remaining four participating teams receiving ₦100,000 each.
In other individual awards, Adeshina Yinka, the best goalkeeper of the tournament received a cash award of ₦50,000.
Meanwhile, Imam Abdulquadri the Highest Goal Scorer of the tournament also received a cash award of ₦50,000.
Erinle FC also received a cash award of #50,000 for the Best Dressed Team of the tournament.
The 2024 Pastor Dr. Joseph Omorinoye is billed to promote unity, community spirit, and physical health while honouring the legacy of the cleric.
