Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has announced plans to prioritize the renovation of the Offa and Lafiagi stadiums as part of the 2025 budget.
The governor disclosed this during the budget presentation at the Kwara State House of Assembly in Ilorin on Friday.
Highlighting his administration's commitment to the development of sports infrastructure, Governor AbdulRazaq noted that the planned renovations are part of broader efforts to enhance sports and youth development across the state.
Since assuming office, the governor has made significant investments in the state’s sporting sector. These include the construction of a Table Tennis court, Squash court, Handball court, and the renovation of the new indoor sports hall, all aimed at creating modern facilities to boost athletic performance and encourage youth participation in sports.
The renovation of the Offa and Lafiagi stadiums, both key sports venues in Kwara, is expected to bolster sports tourism and provide upgraded facilities for local and regional competitions.
The 2025 budget presentation reflects the government’s ongoing focus on infrastructure and youth development, with sports being a central pillar of this strategy.
