President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep concern over the tragic incident in Sokoto State, where an accidental bombing claimed the lives of at least 10 people in Gidan Bisa and Runtuwa villages, Silame Local Government Area.
This was disclosed on Friday in a statement issued by the Press Secretary to Sokoto State Governor, Ahmad Aliyu.
During a condolence visit to Governor Ahmed Aliyu in Sokoto, the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, conveyed the Federal Government’s commitment to conducting a thorough investigation into the incident.
Describing the bombing as “very unfortunate,” Matawalle assured that a comprehensive probe would be launched to determine the cause of the tragedy and to prevent such occurrences in the future.
“The Federal Government is deeply saddened by the loss of lives and is committed to ensuring justice for the victims and their families,” Matawalle said.
The incident has drawn widespread attention, with calls for accountability and measures to safeguard civilians during military operations. Tinubu’s expression of concern underscores the administration’s determination to address the incident and prevent similar tragedies in the future.
