Nigerian Forward Joins AS Roma After Impressive Season In Spain

Super Falcons forward Babajide Rinsola has sealed a move to Italian Serie A Women’s side AS Roma following a stellar season in Spain with UDG Tenerife.

The 27-year-old Nigerian international, who made her Super Falcons debut in October 2023 against Ethiopia, caught the attention of Roma after an outstanding campaign where she scored 10 goals and registered five assists in 26 appearances across all competitions.

Rinsola also made headlines at the ongoing Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), scoring her maiden international goal against Tunisia in a group stage fixture.

Confirming the signing on its official website, AS Roma announced that Rinsola has signed a contract that will keep her at the club until June 30, 2027.

The club praised her pace, creativity, and goal-scoring instincts, describing her as a valuable addition to their attacking options.

Before her move to Tenerife, Rinsola had stints with clubs in England, including Liverpool, where she developed her game and rose to prominence.

Her signing adds depth to Roma’s squad as they gear up for a competitive domestic season and European ambitions.

Rinsola’s move further underscored the rising profile of Nigerian women footballers in Europe’s elite leagues.
