Kwara United Set to Face Blimz FC On Tuesday as Pre-Season Begins

Kwara United will lock horns with Blimz FC in a pre-season friendly as the Harmony Boys kickstart preparations for the upcoming 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season and the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Ilorin-based side resumed training on Monday following a ten-day break after clinching the prestigious Presidential Federation Cup title in Lagos.

Kwara United secured the trophy after a dramatic penalty shootout victory over Abakaliki FC, with the final at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena ending goalless in regulation time.

The players returned to the pitch with renewed vigour, undergoing intensive morning and evening training sessions under the guidance of the coach Tunde Sanni.

The sessions reflected a high level of focus and commitment as the team prepares for a packed and competitive season ahead.

As part of their build-up, Kwara United will face Blimz FC in a test match scheduled for Tuesday at 4:00 PM at the Rashidi Yekini Mainbowl, George Innih Stadium, Ilorin.

The friendly is expected to provide the coaching staff an opportunity to assess players’ fitness levels and tactical readiness.

Meanwhile, the club has confirmed that announcements regarding its retained and released players will be made soon as management finalizes decisions on the squad for the new campaign.

Kwara United will be aiming to build on their Federation Cup success as they prepare to represent Nigeria on the continental stage in the CAF Confederation Cup.
