Kwara NSCDC Enhances Officers’ Investigative Skills with Capacity-Building Seminar

  

The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has undertaken a crucial initiative to strengthen the investigative and intelligence capabilities of its officers through a comprehensive two-day seminar. Held at the Kwara State Library Complex in Ilorin from August 14 to 15, 2024, the training aimed to equip officers with advanced analytical skills essential for contemporary intelligence and investigative work.

Under the theme “Enhancing Analytical Capabilities in Modern Intelligence and Investigative Practices,” the seminar attracted over 300 intelligence officers from various Area Commands and Divisional Offices across the state’s 16 local government areas.

Dr. Umar J.G. Mohammed, the State Commandant, addressed the seminar through his representative, DCC Yaqeen Rafiu Olanrewaju, who leads the Intelligence and Investigation Department. DCC Olanrewaju underscored the importance of continuous professional development for security personnel, urging officers to fully engage in such opportunities to effectively tackle the state's evolving security challenges.

ACG Stella O. Oladeye, representing the NSCDC Headquarters in Abuja, spoke on the growing complexity of national security threats and emphasized the need for ongoing professional development among security officers to stay ahead of emerging challenges.

The seminar featured expert contributions from the National Human Rights Commission, the State High Court, and a prominent ICT firm based in Ilorin. These inputs provided participants with practical knowledge and insights aimed at enhancing their operational efficiency and effectiveness in their roles.

The capacity-building seminar underscores the NSCDC’s commitment to developing a highly skilled workforce capable of addressing the dynamic security needs of Kwara State and beyond.
