Team
Kwara secured another gold medal at the 2024 National Youth Games (NYG) on
Wednesday, with their girls' squash team delivering a dominant performance in
the final.
The
trio of Khadijat Durosilorun, Aisha Abdulraheem, and Loveth Balogun clinched
the gold medal by defeating Team Lagos in a commanding display of skill and
teamwork.
This
latest victory adds to Kwara's growing medal tally, following Aisha
Abdulraheem’s earlier success in the girls' squash singles event, where she
battled to a hard-fought 3-2 win over Zainab Ishola.
Abdulraheem
started the singles final strong, winning the first set 11-8 and the second set
11-9. Despite a setback, losing the third and fourth sets 11-5 and 11-6, she
rallied in the deciding set to secure victory and bring home the gold.
Team
Kwara’s continued success in squash highlights their strength in the sport,
adding momentum as the games progress.
