Nigerian social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman, recently celebrated a victory after calling out famed native doctor, Chukwudozie Nwangwu, also known as Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki, over an allegedly failed juju spell that cost a client millions.
Verydarkman took to social media to share a WhatsApp audio recording from a man named Rock, who recounted how he had paid Akwa Okuko N3 million for a protective spell that failed to yield the promised results. Initially, Rock paid N2.5 million but later added N500,000 for a renewal when the spell reportedly didn’t work.
After reaching out to Verydarkman for help, Rock shared his frustration over the situation. In his characteristic style, Verydarkman, who is known for his public critiques of dubious practices, highlighted the incident on social media, adding that Rock’s ordeal was complicated beyond his full capacity to handle.
Following the public exposure, Akwa Okuko reportedly refunded Rock N2 million and added N500,000 in compensation for the initial failure and an alleged physical altercation involving his boys, who reportedly tried to intimidate Rock over the dispute. The native doctor also apologized, acknowledging the failed service and the unfortunate encounter.
In his follow-up posts, Verydarkman celebrated the outcome, emphasizing the power of social accountability.
He humorously boasted about his “superpowers,” implying that his public influence had played a major role in bringing about the refund, and hinted that people now fear his influence when they attempt fraudulent activities.
The saga has since gone viral on Nigerian social media, sparking conversations about accountability in traditional services and the growing role of influencers in advocating for people who feel cheated or wronged.
